Danna Callahan is the founder of European Garden Designs, a landscape design studio specializing in timeless gardens inspired by classical European landscapes.

My love for garden design began at a young age. Born in Santa Barbara and raised in Southern Oregon, I grew up surrounded by the beauty of nature. From an early age, my brother, a creative visionary, encouraged me to see the world differently, teaching me to appreciate balance, proportion, and scale. His artistic influence shaped the way I began to look at outdoor spaces and sparked a lifelong fascination with design.

That early inspiration led me to pursue the study of horticulture and architecture. After returning to California, I began applying what I had learned to transform outdoor spaces into environments that are both beautiful and thoughtfully composed.

With more than two decades of experience, I approach every project with a hands-on commitment and careful attention to detail from start to finish. My goal is to combine creative and innovative design concepts with the personal tastes and lifestyles of my clients, resulting in landscapes that feel both distinctive and deeply personal.

I have always been especially drawn to the beauty of European-style gardens. Their structure and simplicity create a timeless framework that can feel either formal or relaxed depending on the character of the space. These gardens invite people to slow down, experience the landscape, and enjoy the surroundings.

Ultimately, my goal is to create outdoor spaces that reflect the individuality of the people who live there…gardens that offer beauty, balance, and a place of serenity in a chaotic world. What a gift it is to have that just outside your door.
